How to Successfully Complete a Project

Sometimes it might seem that you are spinning your wheels and getting nowhere on a project. The following list may seem simple but these techniques can actually help you accomplish just about any project.

  1. Determine the reason for doing it. Placing a need on a project will help reach your goal.
  2. Set a timeline to complete it. Give yourself structure and deadlines to help complete the project.
  3. Create a list of steps you need to complete the project. Include training, resources, and gaps. Breakdown (chunk down) large tasks into small easier to complete tasks.
  4. Complete each step on the list. Using visual aids like a checklist or burndown chart can help.
  5. Consider working with a peer to keep you motivated and work with a mentor to help guide you.

Remember to document your steps, and identify roadblocks and bottlenecks to help identify activities to help you complete your project.
