BA Quick Tip

Approved by the client

When working with client requirements, a quick and easy tip for requirements elicitation is to ask the client what they want, record it in a written form, get the client to read what you wrote, and ask them to approve (or update if required) and sign off on it. Save the original written document, approval, and sign off in a location that is easy for you to access, and make sure no one else can alter it after it has been approved. Having the client confirm what they want helps ensure that you build what was asked for, can help minimize scope creep and you have documented proof that the client approved the requirements.
